„Antrenat de Majorat” program

A program to educate high school seniors on adopting a responsible attitude toward gambling and preventing gambling addiction, which ran from November 2017 to February 2024.

The program is held in high schools across the country and targets teens who are approaching the legal age and for whom gambling activities will soon be allowed. It was designed to play a dual role.

That of educating young people so that they can make the right decisions, to know the risks of engaging in activities that do not correspond to their level of psychosocial development and that may affect their further development. And from here comes the second role, that of preventing problems related to compulsive gambling.

HOW DO THE SEMINARS TAKE PLACE?

The meetings take place in the form of interactive informal discussions, in which Dr. Cristian Andrei, neuropsychiatrist, talks to 11th and 12th grade pupils about what is really important in social networking and how teens should react to the temptations of adult entertainment.

Emphasis is also placed on how teenagers should position themselves in relation to the value and earning of money and on ways of asserting themselves other than through entertainment consumption or quick money. Thus, during the Antrenat de Majorat sessions, an atmosphere of maximum interactivity is created, which is extremely active and intense for participants.

Campaign messages:

Understanding and correctly positioning teenagers in relation to the value and earning of money;
What is really important in social relationships and how teenagers should react to the temptations of adult entertainment;
Ways for teenagers to assert themselves other than through entertainment consumption or quick money.

The seminars we conduct address, from a psychological point of view, topics relevant to their age and concerns: peer groups, social relationships, the value and earning of money, life priorities, how to manage a budget, etc.

Please note! During the Antrenat de Majorat seminars, we do NOT discuss gambling or how to do it!

“We don’t go to high schools to scare teenagers with health problems, premature death, and failure, but we start by having a discussion based on the values of the teenager. We don’t even mention the phrase “gambling” in our discussions, but talk to them about luck, luck at school, in exams, in their personal lives. And from there we begin to understand luck, what it is.

Since its launch in November 2017 and until February 2024, the Antrenat de Majorat program has reached nearly 12,000 high school students from over 130 high schools located in 31 cities across the country and has included over 500 teachers coordinating or involved in the project.
